|Description||Roles of microorganisms in soil, aquatic and marine ecosystems, microbial adaptations to the environment, and interactions within microbial communities and between microbes and multicellular organisms. Laboratory techniques to isolate and study microbes.|
|Prerequisite||Biology 203, 203L, 204, 204L. Recommended: Biology 350 and 354.|
|Course Hours||Two lectures and three hours of laboratory.|
|General Text||Writing Requirement: Completion of the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement or the eligibility to enroll in an upper division writing course is a prerequisite for all upper division biology courses numbered 450 and above.|

One face to face meeting and one field trip planned per semester.
